Colin Meads has opted for the knighthood, after being made a Distinguished Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2001

Only 10 people are left to decide if they want to become a sir or a dame.

The Government decided to reinstate titular honours in March, reversing the Labour Government's decision to scrap them in 2000.

Prime Minister John Key says of the 85 people between 2000 and 2008 who have to choose if they want the title, 75 have responded - with 65 wanting one and 10 rejecting it.
