A petition to ban public nudity and profanity has been signed by 1000 people and presented to Parliament
New Zealanders' right to take their clothes off and swear is under threat after over 1000 people signed a petition asking for a ban on public nudity and profanity.
Pukekohe teenager Nathan Ngatai has collected over 1000 signatures asking Parliament to make public displays of nudity and profanity illegal.
Parliament's Government Administration committee will now consider the request.
Hunua MP Paul Hutchison presented the petition to Parliament on behalf of his constituent.
Dr Hutchison says he is usually asked to present two or three petitions each year and it is part of an MP's role to present petitions without passing judgment.
