A New Zealander has lead a multi-faith ascent of Everest despite being an atheist.
Alpine guide Jamie McGuinness has led a party of nine climbers in the 2006 Peace Expedition.
The group included the second black African and the second Israeli to reach the top, and they are all now on the way back to base camp.
Mr McGuinness is a former Aucklander who has been living in Kathmandu for 10 years and has climbed Everest twice.
