Born in Goa, India, Siona Fernandes is a classical dancer and has a master's degree in psychology. Now she's representing her adopted country of New Zealand at the Olympics in the sport of boxing – quite an achievement considering she only moved to New Zealand in 2008 for a holiday, and only took up boxing two-and-a-half years ago – for fitness. It wasn't until the start of this year Fernandes realised that going to the Olympics could be a reality.
