Thousands of Polish guitarists have made a world record attempt and played special tribute to legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix.
Young and old alike gathered with their six strings in the city of Wroclaw for the annual Thanks Jimi Festival, and a mass rendition of Hendrix's hit 'Hey Joe.
But despite 4500 turning out, they fell short of the world record for the largest guitar ensemble ever, which was set at the same event the previous year at just over 6300 guitarists.
