50 Cent's plans for a joint album with former rap rival Kanye West has been thrown into doubt after the ‘Stronger’ hitmaker teamed up with Jay-Z for their highly-anticipated Watch the Throne release.

The ‘In Da Club’ star went head-to-head with West in the albums chart in 2007, but he lost the battle when his hip-hop peer's Graduation outsold his own disc, Curtis.

The pair patched up its differences and went on to discuss ideas for a collaborative project - but 50 Cent admits that plan is now in limbo since West decided to hit the studio with Jay-Z to form rap duo The Throne.

He tells MTV News, "Yeah we talked about it, both of us; and Kanye went on the radio and talked about us collaborating soon. I don't know if it will actually happen during this period, because of how much they got going on with Watch the Throne, with him and Jay doing that. I don't know."

Earlier this week, 50 Cent vowed to "not put out another album" following a dispute with label executives at Interscope.

He was due to release his fifth solo disc later this year.
