A cautionary rescue tale

Mount Aspiring is a formidable looking peak, northwest of Lake Wanaka. Beautiful, yet tough when things go wrong.
Ian Larratt, a Canadian, discovered that when he climbed the mountain alone. He found himself in big trouble after falling down a cliff and becoming snow blind when he was caught in a storm.
His is a cautionary story involving modern technology, a rescue, and some old-fashioned kiwi hospitality.
