to angela: social workers had the training now their employed, the issues you have stated are true, however it comes with the territory when employed as a social worker, if they can't handle the workload get out of the job and yes I believe celia would probably do a better job than most carer's!
as a carer who works for CYFS,maybe Celia should work for CYFS and she if she can do a better job than what most social workers are doing at present. Most social workers have a large case load and still there are new children coming into care every day.A lot of these children have been in and out of care since day one and also have siblings that are in care with CYFS or other family members. Why can't we stop people from having more children if they can't look after the ones they have.
in regards to Celia Lashlie's story, we have actually illegally lost 3 children in the last year and a half to child youth and family. Our lawyer closed our case because CYFS were not giving any chance for us to see our 3 children and we still a year and a half later have not seen them. the latest event was july 2010 when our new born son ( Child 3 ) was removed from North shore Hospital Before we got to see him.The same happened to our second daughter. Our first is only my step daughter and she was on a breake with her grandmother when child 2 was born and was never returned to our care. We do not even have pictures of our children and every waking day we hope we will see them again. We have given up the fight too. We were emotionally abused and threatened by Orewa Cyfs workers and thier manager. we made complaints through the correct avenues and still we have no result. My gender is male and my partner is female but cyfs affidavit states that i am a female and my daughter who passed away at six weeks of age ( Previous relationship) was a Male. well all i know is i have male body parts so i am a male and my dead daughter is in fact a female. all we want is justice and our children returned to their caring loving parents who miss them dearly. robertandmellissa@clear.net.nz is our email address if you know of any help we would be grateful. thanks
