Hi cato there are rules and laws that say if a surgons pairs /coaleges agree with the diagnoses and treatment, said treatment harmfull or not can be accepted in court there negating most compinsation. (an extremly diffecult process for both parties and not recomended unless you are a warrior and see a need to highlight an extremly bad culture or behavior eg: dr death or or instatutional organ harvesting, my point is it has to super extrem to seek legal recourse. and as for acc it is my beleif that acc covers work place accidents and sport injuries which has been underfunded since inception making acc unreliable except for the least server cases. is this system fair i think not and as for correct well its a product of some of the most inept minister to ever grace this planet. I do not presume to know that all kiwi doctors know bugger all how eva it is my expereince as a cancer surviver whome had an extremly rear form of it for eight years while in nz which went undiagnoised and not because i didn't seek treatment i did while in nz. in my case the only experts for my condition where in america and here in australia but it the poomy/english docs that are the best. aussie also has new gears an gismo which is also emportant. and thats my suggestion if you can get perment residence so you can get the dole i promise you there are bowl cancer surgeons here that can do anything i know 1st hand at the very least they can come up with a plan to control your bowls. i have seen this 1st hand and im not talking no diarea im talking 50 70 100 % bowl reconstuction oh and the pain dosn't go away so thats it there is hope its in australia i promise you

ACC states, categorically, that it does not pay anyone for disability only for 'permanent impairment".I have been denied payment for disablement caused by a surgical mishap that has left me with little or no bowel control.I have been refused a vehicle that would allow me to leave home and live as normal a life as possible. Whilst walking down a crowded street with my wife I had a sudden an massive bowel motion that flowed down my legs and covered my shoes. I requested a mobile home with a shower where I could clean myself and change clothes. ACC made a decision stating that my request was not the correct way to go, stating that "management" of my situation should be explored. I have had overseas specialists look into my problem and the general consensus is that it is irreversible so I am a prisoner in my own home and have now required treatment by psychiatrists for depression and mental injury. In desperation, I purchased a second-hand vehicle, a truck with an open tray. This allows me to go out and if I have an "accident" I am able to drive to a quiet area, strip and wash myself from a water container that I have fixed to the tray of the vehicle. I can then leave my soiled clothes in the open tray so there is no foul odour in the cab. ACC are now looking at my method of getting about and have agreed to take an "holistic" view to see if a contribution is warranted towards my vehicle.I am not able to sue the surgeon yet I am not covered under the ACC policy. Can anyone advise me how that is fair and correct?

Absolute morons. Why go around taking footage of people to set them up for a costly and long court case and cause more grief to them, when there could easily be a program available linked to ACC which monitors clients in a counselor like basis, that will give them support as well as making sure that their injeries are genuine.

Well said. My heart goes out to you. ACC is a self-serving dictatorship that is driven entirely by the self-interest of those who run it. Those "no fault" injured claimants are treated like scum bludging off the system for a free lunch instead of being treated with care and respect. It is shameful, disgusting, evil... TYPICAL OF "100% pure" NZ.

I've been refused power chair so housebound over a year. And because of the unpredictable fluctuating nature of my iatrogenic disabilities, some times I need the power chair and like that guy some times I don't. For over a year this time, I have needed a motorised chair but ACC refuses leaving me a prisoner. Its as if being disabled is a crime. My CM got $65k annual base salary and doubled that by denying claims. Refused me a bedside Commode so all winter I was left shivering in a cold wet bed until unseized enough to get to the side of the bed. She got huge bonuses to refuse me a power wheelchair which meant I've had to remain a prisoner in my tiny flat for the crime of being a disabled nurse - all because of a work required vaccine gone wrong. Hospital had a desk job for me but ACC refused to help them become OSH safe for me just so the ACC staff could get bonuses. Denied me vocational rehab so i lived on 2 min noodles to fund my own. Then ACC threatened to kick me off again for studying part time (to help myself get a job!) Years of immobility and cheap stodge piled on the weight so ACC kicked me off again for ageing and weight gain. Reinstated and paid $292 a week compo ACC Bullied me to a pain psychiatrist or lose compo again but ACC refused me a power chair so I wouldn't be able to comply and they could exit me again. When my sister and dad died in the same year, ACC threatened to kick me off for going to the tangihanga FFS. I had to ask the racist Sth African case managers express permission before i was allowed to bury my own family members. Why must I urinate into a child's beach bucket on the edge of my bed because ACC denies me a proper bedside commode. Or be under house arrest for being unable to walk? I can't sue the vaccine coys or my former employer for the work reqd vaccine, so why am I treated like the criminal by ACC when bronwyn Pullar tapes proved ACC are dishonest?

Didn't seem like trouble for him to walk, even on good days people still would have some kind of limp but this guy was walking normal speed.
And he sold the van, bright spark he is -.-

They should NOT have sold the van until either, he no longer needed it or, and I do not want to say this, but I know others who have had to do it when their loved one has passed away. 66grand is what I get for 3yrs!! Wtf? Yes, it should have been passed on to WINZ a long time ago, but that would be a drop in pay. The images shown seemed pretty clear, walking fine, lifting and carrying...I dont doubt he has issues, but to get a van worth 66grand only to sell it? NO. That is not right. If they decided he didnt need it, then it could have been GIVEN to someone else who does desperately need it. Not cool. However, ACC is there to help, but not for the rest of a persons lifetime. Swing it over to WINZ so they can work out the best plan for him and his family, rehab? Help? Carer? Hooked up with a mobility van taxi? I know people whos lives have been totally destroyed and turned upside down and get nothing at all of what they really need. Sheesh. Living with serious pain really, really sucks, so I do feel for him. Obviously I am torn over this.

The video of him walking in the supermarket was of a man walking normally without a limp or slowness. To me he appeared to be normal. ACC has been a great cash cow for some people who are able to take advantage of benefits. I personally know an amputee from the thigh down who is employed in a job that any able bodied man can do and it involves a lot of walking. There are others who get on with life despite there disabilities and they work and enjoy sports as the para olympic games showed. This man obviously did not need the van so generously supplied to him by ACC and for him to go and sell it shows that he did not need it. ACC should be demanding the money back. I bet he drinks as well as smokes and does not go without the extras that other working people do. This type of ripoff really does make me angry.

And yet ACC GIVE drunk drivers everything handed to them on plate, while this guy is treated like this. GET REAL ACC! When are you (ACC) going to stop treating some people like they are thick or stuipid!!!! These are peoples lives and lively hoods we are talking about.
