ACT is replying on the John Key cup of tea incident to rally support

The ACT Party launched its campaign today and the John Key cup of tea was front and centre - with Mr Key given a higher profile than Don Brash on some of the party's election material.

"Ladies and gentleman - New Zealand needs ACT," says Mr Brash, the problem is, hardly anyone in New Zealand wants ACT according to tonight's 3 News poll which shows just 0.7 percent support for the party.

It seems that all that can really save it now is the infamous "cuppa" granted by John Key. an event they are making the most of with pamphlets hot off the press dedicated to Key.

Aside from a few ACT supporters who see nothing wrong in the bizarre nature of ACT's (actually National-by-proxy) campaign launch - that has to be one of the most bizarre political events since Brash launched a coup against Rodney Hide (and wasn't even a member of ACT!). No wonder Patrick Gower couldn't keep a straight face!

What a very, very silly man Patrick Gower is; he cannot really be as stupid as he appears to be, surely.

I can't remember the last time I saw such a shameful piece of journalism. I don't care what political party it is, Greens, Act or Labour REPORT THE FACTS. I'm sympathetic with Don Brash on this. I am honestly dismayed at how horrible this was. Shame on your Patrick Gower.
