The spot-the-supermodel game continues, with America’s Next Top Model star Tyra Banks once again foiling waiting media at Auckland’s airport.

But their wait was not completely in vain. Along with some crew members, the show’s photographer and judge Nigel Barker arrived – all 6’4” of him.

A Tyra look-a-like fooled media waiting at Auckland Airport yesterday, and the tight-lipped cast and crew already here are still keeping mum about when the star of the show will touch down in Auckland.

What is news? I think it's good for the promotion of New Zealand as a holiday destination when big name stars come to New Zealand. The promotion of New Zealand over seas = News?

My point, James, is that news bulletins have degenerated so far into infotainment that more informative and significant items get crowded out. This circus belongs in a showbiz programme, not the news.
Fair point Alien, but they would have had plenty of info on NZ and would know we are not so paparazzied up. Perhaps you are not so cynical and take things more at face value. Lucky you.

Wow Phil, always great to know that there are people who think they know why people do things. I would take a guess and say they are not used to NZ, and are used to the way it is in the US, being constantly harassed by photographers so are taking precautions they have to typically take in the US

Hey phil - Like "no kidding" dude, what's your point?

They are only doing this "hiding" to generate publicity and the media are stupid enough to aid them. If they were ignored they would very soon be popping up saying " LOOK AT US!' It is not news and should not be treated as such. Tedious fluff..
