ASB’s banking services have now been restored after going down for most of today after system issues arose during maintenance overnight.

There were intermittent problems with the bank’s ATM, EFTPOS, branch, and online services.

The system was fixed by around 6:30pm tonight.

ASB said in a statement today that the issues arose after normal maintenance on the mainframe database overnight.

ASB put limits of $100 and $2000 on its Fastcash and Visa Debit card transactions while the issues were resolved.

For offline ATM transactions, limits of $200 and $800 were put in place.

Foreign exchange and other financial transactions were available at ASB’s seven-day branches.

ASB apologised to its customers and said the issues were top priority.

“We apologise for any inconvenience these outages may cause for our customers.”

Is this really good enough for a bank of this size and reputation to have their services down for the better part of a day?? Another bank that charges fees at every turn and claims to be the top of their game in customer service and satisfaction. ASB how do you plan on compensating your customers for the chaos of today??
