Benjamin Walker in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

By Kate Rodger

Hollywood continues to suck the blood out of vampire-mad audiences and its latest release involves not just vampires, but presidents.

If the title of this film, Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter isn’t enough to put you off seeing this movie, and the even more ridiculous trailer still wasn’t enough, then it’s my fervent hope, from the bottom of my stone-cold film reviewers heart, that this review will.

Abraham Lincoln, former president of the United States, is a vampire hunter. O for orsum.

The world is full of vampires and they want to win the American Civil War. Yes, it’s true.

Brit actor Dominic Cooper, who clearly needed the money, recruits young Abe as a revenge-seeking lad hell-bent on killing the vamp who killed his mum. He goes on his vampy-hunting and killing ways all the way to the White House.

I don’t know what else to say really, other than… any vampire film which makes me wish I’d rather just sat watched a Twilight marathon is impressive on so many levels. One star – and that’s just for the studio executive who had the balls to think this was a good idea.
