More people will be allowed to walk into Christchurch's earthquake-devastated Cathedral Square on Saturday.
Last Saturday the public was allowed to walk to the square for the first time since the February 22 earthquake left many buildings, including the iconic cathedral, in ruins. Up to 300 people an hour were allowed on a walkway.
From this Saturday, the walkway's capacity will be extended to allow 400 people at any one time, the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA) says.
The gates open at 9am and the last intake starts at 7pm.
CERA also says CBD Red Zone bus trips will run just two more weekends, but the 1000 seats left are only available on buses running over the last weekend - December 10 and 11.
