Romeo and Juliet is one of the greatest plays in history and is now at Shakespeare's Globe, one of the most famous theatres in history.

Rawiri Paratene is in the centre of the production that has just opened to celebrate Shakespeare's birthday.

He is familiar to many New Zealanders as Koro from the film Whale Rider, and as the host of Play School.

But now the fine actor is Friar Lawrence in Romeo and Juliet, and whilst other Kiwis have studied at the Globe, none have acted in a major production there.

Campbell Live spoke to Paratene about what it's like to walk out onto that very famous stage, in that very famous play.
