They are his pride and joy – and now some scumbag has them.

All Black loose forward Adam Thompson has been devastated by the theft of his All Black Rugby World Cup 2011 jerseys after his Dunedin apartment was burgled.

Thompson returned home from overseas on Sunday and his heart sunk when he realised what was missing among other things.

“There are a couple of World Cup ones and a Tri-Nations one. I can’t really replace those,” he was reported as saying in media.

“I’ve worked a long time to get them, and they are pretty unique to me. The World Cup jerseys, especially, are sort of once-in-a-lifetime things. That’s pretty disheartening.

Thompson says he didn’t see any signs of how the thieves got in.

“They’ve obviously taken their time, gone through drawers, made it look like there is nothing out of the ordinary.

“You feel really violated,” he adds.

Replaceable items such as a PlayStation console, clothes, and sunglasses were taken but it’s the suitcases containing the Abs gear that has hit him where it hurts.

“I don’t car about the other stuff. But it would mean the world to me to get the jerseys and other memorabilia back.”
