Ten passengers and the pilot have died after a hot air balloon crash in Carterton

Eleven people were killed in a crash involving a hot air balloon in Carterton, around 7.30am this morning.

Residents called emergency services after seeing the balloon in flames.

Police remain at the scene and a disaster victim identification team is in the process of identifying the bodies.
