Air New Zealand has done a complete U-turn agreeing to look into putting on a flight to the Mount Erebus crashsite.

The airline has slammed Christchurch businessman Mike Pero after he proposed a chartered flight to Antartica to mark the 30th anniversary of the crash.

But it's now agreed to look into the possibility of organising memorial flights.

Mr Pero believes a little public pressure has helped to sway their previous decision.

Mike Pero believes Air New Zealand's change of heart be of great relief to the relatives of the victims.
