I was suprised on what Ali Ikram said in his report. He should've done alot more research before critisizing SA. Granted there is plenty of crime in SA. The way it was done would make any kiwi not choose SA for a holiday. I'm Proudly South African living in NZ. SA has over 40 million people. My point I'm trying make is that Ali has clearly forgotten that SA has successfully hosted world class events, cricket wc, rugby wc, cricket 20/20 with next to no incidents. Below is an article about what this world cup means to the people of SA & how this tournament will bring them together as a nation.

How do we even begin to describe the wave of excitement, energy and sheer pride that has swept over our nation this past week. No amount of marketing budget could ever have bought this feeling. As an organisation we have worked tirelessly for many years to promote the image of South Africa, because we have always believed in this country and its' people. This week we are more than feeling the rewards of our effort. We've had many bumps along the way, and we know there will be many more, but at the moment we are on a high!

The Gautrain has launched seemlessly and offers commuters a smooth, rapid and affordable way to get to and from the OR Tambo International Airport. The gleaming gold buses are driving up and down Oxford Road. The stations are World Class and the passengers are raving about the experience.

The teams have arrived from far and wide, the stadiums are ready, the fans are fabulous, every international TV Channel is filled with South Africa and there has never been a more exciting time to be here. It's unbelievable how many homesick messages we have received from South Africans abroad who are longing to be a part of the magic. We miss you all and we hope that wherever you are in the world you find a special place to celebrate your South Africaness.
