All Black Tony Woodcock's proud grandparents

Wed, 07 Sep 2011 7:00p.m.

It’s just 49 hours and 20 minutes until kickoff at the Rugby World Cup, with a full house of 60,000 looking likely.

The fans are ready, but what about the families?

Imagine if your boy was running out there on Friday night.

Tony Woodcock is in the starting 15 and he is now among the most capped props in the history of test rugby – you’d think this family would be used to their boy being in Black.

But his Grandmother is so excited about the Rugby World Cup, she had to do something to help. She did what Grannies throughout the ages have done and she got knitting.

Campbell Live meets two very proud grandparents.

Wanted to say how much I enjoyed last night story on Tony Woodcocks grandparents. We tend to forget that the AB's are everyday people like you and me with families who know them as the people they are outside of the black jersey. It was heartwarming to see how proud they were of their grandson and it bought a tear to my eye. Go the AB's!
