Richie McCaw led the way, named sportsman of the year, while his All Blacks took out team of the year and Graham Henry coach of the year.

London Olympics favourite Valerie Adams bagged sportswoman of the year while swimmer Sophie Pascoe was named disabled athlete award winner.

The man who the awards are named after, Sir Murray Halberg, was acknowledged with the sports leadership award

But the night was all black with the Supreme Halberg award going to the winners of the Webb Ellis cup and the last word going to Graham Henry;

“To the All Blacks: Good luck and thank you."
