Congratulations on getting him back. He has done a lot for FC Midtjylland and the danish national youth teams.

Unbelievable effort Andrew-it has made the news here. I can't believe it, as an article last week (link below in Danish) said that if Ricky phoned up, he would listen, but he would say that he wanted to play for Denmark! Must have been some magic words... Exciting times ahead.

Go the Nix this weekend!

Well done TV3 for being so pro-active. Winston is obviously Maori and ,surprisingly, he still retains his "Nyu Zillin" accent. Come on home son!

So I guees this is a done deal. It's all over the news today here in Denmark. Apparantly he has thought long and hard about it and has given up on the Under 21 European Championship which takes place here in Denmark next summer. A tournament he would have been a sure starter in for the Danish team.

I had really hoped he would feature for the Danish national team very soon and for many years to come. Reid has been one of the brightest talents in the danish league for a few years now and I'm sure he will do well for New Zealand. Hopefully at the World Cup. So congratulations on getting him back! :D

Return home Winston! Remember where your ahi ka is burning brightest. He'll be a great asset for NZ's national goal of not getting thrashed!

According to a Danish news site he's committed to Denmark for life: http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=1&eotf=1&u=http://www.aoib.dk/artikel/fcms-winston-reid-vil-spille-for-danmark&sl=da&tl=en

Great news for NZ's chances at the World Cup. This guy has been a regular in Denmark's top league the last two seasons and was ranked the fourth-best player in the league last season. Has been playing in Denmark's top league since he was 17 and has made 10 apps. for Denmark's U-21s.
This site is an example of the sort of interest in him by Italian clubs (Catania in Serie A): http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=1&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.catania46.net%2Fct46%2Fblgwp%2F%3Fp%3D2952&sl=it&tl=en
