A man accused of stealing 12 pay and display parking machines in Auckland, who failed to show up for a court appearance last week, is still at large.

Unemployed Grant Edward Lindsay Bronson Hart, 37, of Henderson, west Auckland, is charged with stealing 12 of the machines in November and December last year.

He was due to appear in Auckland District Court last Wednesday but did not show. A warrant was issued for his arrest a week ago, but he had not yet been caught, a court official told NZPA.

He allegedly stole the machines, belonging to Auckland City Council, throughout November and into December. Each machine is worth $8500, and contained various amounts of cash totalling more than $3000.

I thought it was common knowledge all the 'Pay and Displays' were thieves? Nothing alleged about it.
