Just a suggestion have a look at the alpine fault when it transits the strait to the North Island....monitor it and you will find out when and how long we have before the bigone.

And there's a company down south who wants to put a 10km tunnel through this to take tourists to Milford Sound with less scenery! Maybe they really are intent on making a killing out of our World Heritage Areas!!

Faultlines & the thought of a proposed Milford Dart/tunnel surely is one BIG joke that John Key supports even tho he has never been to Fiordland. What an insult to our World Heritage to have a Prime Minister that travels the world before seeing his own backyard & wants to carve & mine our parks!
