Americans will drink more than 50 million 12 packs of beer during this year’s Super Bowl at a cost of $10.8 billion US, according to estimates released by Neilsen Data.

Americans will then make1.4 billion trips to the bathroom during the match, but 58% of those watching will hold it in so they don’t miss the infamous Super Bowl commercials. It’ll take almost 2 billion gallons of water to flush it all away, too.

The price of each 30 second commercial? Between $3.5 million and $4 million US.

And when Super Bowl mayhem is done and dusted for another year, Neilsen estimates 7 million Americans will pull a sickie the next morning.

This year’s Super Bowl pits the New England Patriots against the New York Giants at Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium, with a seating capacity of 70,000.
