You may have heard that much of the latest season of America’s Next Top Model was shot in New Zealand.

The winner of the TV3 show has now been discovered – revealed on the tiny island of Rakino in Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf.

3 News visited the island, now absent of Tyra Banks and the final two contestants.

Rakino has no power supply, its 16 full time residents rely on solar power and their own water supplies.

The ANTM crew arrived on a barge – 95 of them, with 20 vehicles.

“They had to bring their own generator out there as lodge power wasn’t sufficient for their lights and cameras,” a female resident told 3 News.

The next top model was chosen on the island and the owner of the only lodge was confined to the boat shed while the models did their thing.

Around seven million American’s watched the ANTM episode. The series has now concluded in America and expected to be a great success for Tourism New Zealand.

The winner will be revealed to Kiwi ANTM fans when the episode airs in New Zealand in six months.
