I had the honour to spend some time meeting with Damien and Lorri in when they were in NZ. We had no idea who each other were as it was through a mutual friend who had invited us to lunch together and being so unaware was fundamentally the most appropriate way we could have shared each other others stories without any distortion from other outside sources but for each of us to talk frankly as if we had known each other for most of our lives. I had been to death and back and Damien wanted to know, like an eager child almost every aspect of my experience and in my own curiosity wanted t know about his story and the horrific nature that if it was really that true, how any respected and trusted so called judiciary system whom the public relies on and also the Police who also is trusted to do their utmost to completing and solving all the cases and yet here was this incredibaly free-spirited and yet vunerable still after just a few months out of incaceration, much like my rehabilitation after having no heart beat for 25 minutes and learning to think, walk, concentrate and remember who I was and here was this light filled being who had been through a horrific experience you wish no even your worst enemy to ever endure. Damien, it was a priviledge to meet you and Lorri and share for those short few hours together and to have you as more than just a friend but as a soul-mate, both of you and look forward to our many years we will share together in the future. May God bless you both and look forward to seeing you both when you return again to Aotearoa. John xx
