Amy Winehouse's father is fuming about Jean Paul Gaultier's catwalk fashion tribute to the late star, branding it "in bad taste".

The flamboyant French designer, who has long been inspired by pop stars in his couture work, saluted the ‘Back To Black’ hitmaker during his show at Paris Fashion Week in France on Wednesday by sending his models down the runway sporting the star's iconic beehive hairstyle and heavy eyeliner.

Several models, who wore Gaultier's latest creations, also smoked cigarettes in tribute to the late British icon.

But Mitch Winehouse was left unimpressed with Gaultier's unusual tribute to his daughter, who died at her home in London last July aged 27.

In a post on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "We don't support the Jean Paul Galtier (sic) collection. It's in bad taste."

A tad too soon for this sort of 'tribute'
