An update on the dress

Thu, 17 Dec 2009 12:28p.m.
So at the start of this month I was finally reunited with The Dress!  I hadn't seen it in months, and was very eager to see how the alterations to the neckline turned out, and how it fitted most importantly!

There were some nerves of course; would I still love it?  Would I see something in the window that I loved more?  The usual things that I'm sure many brides experience!

The good news is, I still love it!  And I love the new neckline, its exactly what I pictured.

The bad news is, it doesn't fit.  By the dressmaker's estimate, it needs to be taken in a dress size.  And while this is awesome from a weight loss point of view, it means more money for alterations!  Got to take the good with the bad right?!

So I don't have a finished dress just yet, but I'm not too fussed, it's not like I can wear it any time soon anyway!

Its been a good couple of weeks all round actually, things are looking brighter!  I finally found a torsolette that actually fits properly without creating additional muffin top!  And after realising my shoes weren't going to fit in the warmer weather, I jumped online and found some cute and well priced shoes at www.shoebuy.com, tracked down a 20% off voucher too, so took a gamble (story of my life really!) and ordered them.  They arrived Monday and they look great!  Better yet, they fit!
So I'm a smiling bride to be for now :)

I'm a 24 year old Wellingtonian preparing to marry my partner in crime on 30 Jan 2010.  In 2008 we got engaged, bought our first house and had our first child.  Instead of having 2009 off to recover, we're throwing ourselves head-first into wedding planning!  Did I mention we're trying to do it all for under 10K!?
