It dawned on me quite some time back that if we were going to have an outdoor ceremony with music then we'd need some sort of audio equipment. And then this got pushed way way to the back of my mind, making way for dresses, hair, makeup, jewellery – all the pretty little bits and pieces!
Halfway through November (during one of many sleepless nights) I decided I'd actually better get cracking and organise something!
So I fired off at least half a dozen emails to various AV places in Wellington found via the Google machine, and within a day or two responses were flooding in. Problem was, they were all different!
Not just different prices, but different equipment, different terminology – I was stumped! I'd sent identical emails to each place, so why weren't the responses pretty much identical??
One response jumped out at me – the response that didn't actually provide any lists of equipment or prices. The one that said – 'call me, let's discuss what you need, I have a couple of options'.
So I called Sam at
Vision Media Systems and we discussed things in plain English – finally! Turns out things aren't so complicated when someone takes the time to explain the different options to you. Sam put together a couple of options, one that would 'do the job' and one that would deliver a result they'd happily stand behind for such an important event.
Not being one to rush into decisions I sat on the info for a bit, weighed up the pros and cons and decided that actually, this isn't an aspect of our wedding we can afford to get wrong.
So another thing ticked off the list!
