James Anderson and Stuart Broad have decided not to make themselves available for next year's Indian Premier League to ensure they are as fresh as possible for England's defence of the Ashes starting in November.

The management agency that represents the fast bowlers says they preferred to concentrate on the series in Australia rather than the lucrative Twenty20 tournament.

Broad says his "No 1 priority is, and always will be" to play for England.

Key players Andrew Flintoff and Kevin Pietersen both played in this year's IPL in South Africa before breaking down injured in England's 2-1 Ashes win over Australia.

The 2010 IPL is scheduled to take place in the Caribbean.
