Former England manager Fabio Capello, tipped to become Russia’s new coach, has already been given the job, according to team captain Andrey Arshavin.
"Russia's national coach has been appointed – he is Fabio Capello. We wish him success in his new job," Arshavin writes on his personal website.
The 31-year-old Arsenal player, is widely regarded as Russia’s most influential footballer and is thought to have inside information with the affairs of the Russian FA (RFU).
However according to the official RFU line, Capello is still in talks that will continue next week.
