A Michael Jackson portrait by legendary artist Andy Warhol has sold for US$812,000 at an auction in Los Angeles.
The King of Pop picture was bought by an anonymous bidder at Christie's auction house on Tuesday for more than the expected price of US$700,000.
The artwork, which was painted in 1984, was sold by a New York-based collector, who bought it from the Andy Warhol Foundation in the 1990s.
