Angelina Jolie is turning to the dark side - she's in talks play the wicked fairy godmother in a live action remake of Sleeping Beauty.
Fantasy filmmaker Tim Burton will direct the modernised version of the Disney classic following the success of Alice In Wonderland, and Jolie will add her star power to the project as famous villain Maleficent, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Alice In Wonderland has become America's highest-grossing movie of the year so far after taking US$116.3 million earlier this month in its first three days on US release.
Jolie is currently shooting The Tourist with Burton's frequent collaborator and Alice In Wonderland star Johnny Depp.
