The Defence Force will this morning release its report into the Anzac Day helicopter crash that killed three servicemen.
Pilot Flight Lieutenant Hayden Madsen, 33, co-pilot Flying Officer Daniel Gregory, 28, and crewman Corporal Ben Carson, 25, were killed in the 2010 crash.
Sergeant Stevin Creeggan, 37, survived but suffered serious injuries.
The 40-year-old Iroquois helicopter was part of a formation heading to Wellington to take part in a flypast for Anzac Day when it crashed into steep hills near Pukerua Bay shortly before dawn in low cloud.
Most attending Wellington's dawn services had no knowledge of the crash.
The Court of Inquiry findings come the week after the RNZAF took delivery of the first of the new twin-engined NH90 helicopters which will replace the ageing Iroquois fleet at a cost of $771 million.
The RNZAF first started flying the Iroquois in 1966. Three of them have crashed since and there are 13 flying.
