The paper that newspapers are printed on has just fallen under government control in Argentina.
The country's senate has voted 41-26 to control newsprint's manufacture, sale and distribution to media friends and foes alike.
It's a long-sought victory for President Cristina Fernandez, whose allies won control of Congress as she begins her second term.
Newsprint has been a key weapon in the never-ending battles between her government and opposition media. Since the early days of the dictatorship, Argentina's newsprint has been controlled by the dominant newspapers, Clarin and La Nacion.
Vice President Amadou Boudou said the law will improve the quality of information. Opponents call it a death blow for freedom of expression.
