A person has been charged with murder over a fatal shooting in west Auckland.
Daniel Turner, 29, was shot in the chest in Afton Place, Ranui, on the night of December 18 and later died in hospital.
Police executed several search warrants in west Auckland on Wednesday morning which have resulted in one person being arrested and charged with Mr Turner's murder, while two other people have been charged as parties to the murder.
Further charges relating to the shooting and wounding of an associate of Mr Turner have also been laid, police say.
Five people have been charged with being accessories after the fact to the murder.
Among those facing charges, five have also been charged with participation in a criminal group in relation to a drug dealing operation.
During the investigation, a firearm believed to be that used to shoot Mr Turner was found, police say.
Those charged are expected to appear in Waitakere District Court on Wednesday.
Police say further arrests are likely in the coming days.
