Singer Art Garfunkel has signalled his comeback following vocal surgery by announcing the release of an extensive hits package which will include Simon & Garfunkel rarities and duets with James Taylor and Jimmy Webb.

The Singer will feature 34 songs hand-picked by Garfunkel from his 34-year solo career and some treasures from his time as one half of duo Simon & Garfunkel.

Highlights include Paul Simon collaborations on ‘I Only Have Eyes For You’ and ‘My Little Town’ and ‘(What A) Wonderful World’ with Simon and James Taylor, plus hits like ‘Bright Eyes’ and ‘Breakaway’.

The two-CD collection will be released in August.

Garfunkel was diagnosed with vocal cord paresis midway through the last Simon & Garfunkel reunion tour in 2010 and he has been battling to get back onstage ever since, telling Billboard.com, "I'm being challenged by the Lord to have patience, real patience. It's coming along slowly, painfully, excruciatingly slow. I try and stay off the subject and not bemoan anything. But I'm never going to give up on my crusade to return to the stage."
