Arthur is one of Santa's son's and not the one voted most likely to be Santa.
The story takes place on Christmas Eve, where the delivery of presents to all the planet's children naughty and nice is now a military exercise executed by a legion of swat-trained SAS elves under the command of Santa's eldest, Steve.
But shock horror, this year there's a glitch and one child is missed, meaning it’s left to the accident-prone Arthur, along with his drunken old grandfather, to try and save Christmas Day.
It takes an impressive festive flick to melt my stone cold grinch's heart and Arthur Christmas is all that and more.
Gorgeous 3D animation, great pace, a fresh story with clever characters delivering clever lines, I found myself drunk on Christmas spirit within minutes and remained that way right to the closing credits.
Here's a Christmas movie feast that’s not too sickly sweet, and one easily enjoyed by the kids and the grown-ups alike.
Thanks Arthur.
Four and a half stars.
