Assassin's Creed III will take place during the American Revolution, Ubisoft have all but confirmed with the release of the game’s cover art today.
After an image was leaked yesterday showing promotional art of what appeared to be a Native American Assassin's Creed hero standing in front of an American flag, Ubisoft responded by releasing the title’s cover art for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
The official Assassin's Creed website displays both the artwork and a timer which currently has just under three days and twenty hours before it hits zero – when it will reveal, presumably, a trailer for the game, or at least more information.
Gaming websites are already speculating on the period’s famous battles and historical figures that players may be sent to assassinate in the game.
