Oh what an ugly short sighted racist under belly that exists in NZ makes me feel sick to my stomach. Everybody has an interpretation of history and the Treaty it seems. If you think that Maori signed a Treaty to give up their Country their Land and or their Culture to the Crown you are sadly mistaken. Don’t start talking about land sales on here to me, what a crock. The crown acted so dishonorably on that front, they rolled out the notion of Law and Order where was that? What has happen to Maori is so terrible what a shameful history we have. Suppressing a culture and trying to extinguish it and stopping them from speaking their language etc smacks of what happened in Nazi Germany. NZ needs to take ownership of the brutal treatment of Maori, Maori Culture, Customs and past injustices. Maori cannot forget and rightly so this must be respected and acknowledged. If we sell our assets they are gone forever, yet people are being led by the notion that these troublesome Maoris want this and want that. Look in the end the Treaty will help secure NZ for future generations we will be so lucky to have the Treaty. We are being led into thinking hey it’s our right to sell off our assets by some notion that Maori want stuff we need to sell…what? We will always have debt selling assets isn’t going to change that. No need to feel excluded if you are not Maori it’s not about what race or culture you are, we are here in NZ together this is our country it’s not an us and them situation we should be proud of who we are our culture and be respectful one another. So easy for you to sit at your computers and condemn Maori that's the same kind of entitlement that settlers brought with them not nice at all. What a fantastic Culture Maori Culture is as it heals we will heal as a Country and grow stronger. I am NZ born European 44 years old at Uni doing a Treaty paper among others and have really had my eyes widen just by reading about NZ history. Oh my god what a shocker!
