If these people have a legitimate issue and the council aren't compensating for their loss of business then it's fair to report it. Also, as an aside, Auckland is the major economic center in NZ and the rest of the country would collapse without it, I think it's convenient to forget that when you want to complain about Auckland, but without Ak, there would be no Chch rebuild.
