Video: Auckland Uni begins the year smoke free

While I'm really glad to see this new enforcement, most UoA students know it's not making much of a difference. Maybe 'campus' has a loose meaning, but walking past the general library you'll see that there's a constant fog of cigarette smoke. Walk a little further and you'll see several "Campus is now Smokefree" signs, and behold. Who's that next to it? Oh yea, someone smoking.

As someone who hates smoking I still say ....just let the community solve its problems.Let customs evolve. We in New Zealand consider ourselves to be living in a 'free' society. We need no more dictatorship from authorities......elected, appointed, hired or otherwise.Auckland Uni's complete ban on smoking is not meeting their community/clients halfway.What they had in place previously worked.

It is about time NZ banned smoking completely, then us non smokers wouldn't have to put up with it!
