Link buses will be affected by the outage

By 3 News online staff

Many Aucklanders will need to find alternative forms of transport when bus services stop for five and a half hours on Friday.

Metrolink, NorthStar, Go West, Waka Pacific and LINK bus services will not be running from 11am to 4.30pm tomorrow because of a union meeting.

However school bus services and Ritchies, Birkenhead Transport, Howick and Eastern, Northern Express, Urban Express services as well as train and ferry services will be running as normal.

About 900 bus drivers are expected to attend the meeting between NZ Bus and FIRST Union to discuss pay rise options.

At 4.30pm normal services will resume.

NZ Bus has apologised for any inconvenience caused.

Maxx Auckland Transport warns the Maxx website will still show the unavailable bus options during the outage.

So here we are again - the Unions taking the prime workers from their employer who employs them, pays the for their services, pays ACC and deducts the tax to pay the IRD, looks after them, supplys them their uniform and safety gear and supplies tea & coffee, and gives the workers a bus to drive - the employer now has to suffer a loss of revenue because of the ultra leftist thinking of the Labour Party and their Union Bosses, who have never spared a thought about the employers of workers or even the customers of the employer.

As long as Labour and the Unions are getting the workers union dues - that is all they care about.

Surely a couple of workers delegates from the bus company was all that was needed to attend this politically driven union meeting not - take all the drivers out and disrupt the Bus companies customer base.
