$5 million of methamphetamine, firearms and  $236,000 worth of cash has been seized by the police from an Asian organised crime ring.

The bust is the result of a year long investigation by Auckland police and the Organised and Financial Crime Agency (OFCA).

Six people were arrested today and face drugs charges. Firearms and ammunition was also found.

Police seized five kilos of methamphetamine valued at approximately $5 millon and two kilos of methamphetamine precursor ContacNT.

Detective Inspector Stephen Wood from OFCA says the drugs bust was significant.

"This would be one of the most significant seizures of methamphetamine made within New Zealand."

The operation was codenamed Acacia and several government agencies were involved.

*CLAPS* lovely scapegoat to the government....increase GST...decrease funds for early childhood...find jobs for those receiving DPB and sickness benefits and forget to find work for the other 170,000 unemployed kiwis and put an organised crime ring on the front page to show how wonderful the government can put an ambulance at the bottom of the ladder to catch them as they fall... got to love it! i am sure that will get the punters voting for extreme changes way to go!!

Okay. Now lets get this right. 1 year of investigation, an asian gang consisting of 6 people, 5 million worth of P and Firearms, $236.000 cash....... VERDICT!

5 years Prison but hang on lets go for a lesser charge because you have alot of money that you will pay to 'get out of jail free'Gang will get a lawyer who will get them out on bail.... While on bail they will go back to their own country and get lost! (with intentions).....

Why bother putting it in the news they are just gonna get away with it!
Frekin put them in front of a firng squad and shoot the buggers!

These sensational drug busts appear to be just photo ops for the minister & her hierachy.. they are only scratching the surface in reality. Law enforcement is just a band-aid solution.. they are doing very little to deal with the real issues. Education & Harm minimization should come first.
Or maybe they are happy to just continue filling up the prisons & then provide 'business' for the proposed private stockades ??

Itc is time for New Zealand to piss these people back to their own country. If they are convicted and then sent back to China they would be shot. Save the poor NZ tax payer a lot of money. I am sick of New Zealanders being made to suffer for these asian gangs who know that if they did this in thier counrty they would die if caught
