A female police officer has been punched unconscious as she tried to arrest a fleeing man in west Auckland.

The alleged assault happen in the suburb of Henderson about 10:40pm on Wednesday, when police had chased and stopped a stolen Subaru station wagon.

The car stopped by the Ranui railway station where police tried to arrest the four occupants.

The driver allegedly punched the female officer in the face a number of times as she tried to arrest him, police said.

She was knocked unconscious and the four made off.

However, three of them were later picked up and one of them, an 18-year-old male, will appear in Waitakere District Court on Thursday, charged with aggravated assault.

The injured officer spent the night in North Shore Hospital as a precaution.

Police are still searching for the remaining offender.

The Lady should'nt been alone on duty or try to takeover four offenders on her own, we are only human, so take care out there POLICE..
We found a man lying down beside his motorbike on a side of the road on a highway2 yesterday evening, three car were stopped instantly to investigate what appeared from a distant if he was dead or had an accident, then he said' he was only having a rest, an appropriate place is best recommended and not the other way round..
We are fetch-up with the police injuries on a single handed term, police must be working in pairs or have a backup not far to help out on any such harassement.. Bare in mind New Zealand is not safe anymore when approaching any idiots as such..
The Police will always win their battles by bringing in the offenders to justice or to imprisonment..
TAKE CARE POLICE..
