A hikoi is being held to protest the Auckland supercity this Monday

The government has selected the people who will make up the Auckland supercity transitional authority - a decision that had been delayed by several days.
 
The chair is Mark Ford and the other members are Miriam Dean QC, John Law, Wayne Walden and John Waller.
 
These appointments are effective immediately.

They might want a supercity (we don't actually know, including you, because there's no data on it), but they probably don't want their elected representatives being over ridden by a small group of Rodney Hide's hand picked businessmen, which is exactly the structure this transitional authority has.
