Metal acts August Burns Red and Bless the Fall are playing shows in Auckland and Wellington this April with support from Saving Grace and A Plea for Purging.

August Burns Red were last in New Zealand for a set last year at the No Sleep Til Auckland festival. The Pennsylvania-based metalcore giants have debuted in the Top 25, co-headlined the AP Tour, headlined the Warped Tour, graced the cover of Alternative Press and even appeared on American Dad.

Blessthefall is an American post-hardcore band from Phoenix, Arizona described by Kerrang Magazine as “one of the world’s most explosive live bands”. They last played New Zealand in 2009 alongside Saosin.

New Zealand metal band Saving Grace signed with US hardcore label Facedown Records in June 2011 and released their latest album The King Is Coming in November. The Gisborne rockers have toured across Australasia, Mexico and the United States since the release of their first full length album Behind Enemy Lines.

A Plea for Purging are a Nashville, Tennessee metalcore act who released their fourth full-length release, The Life and Death of A Plea for Purging, in late 2011 – read a review here.

The gigs take place at:

  • Auckland’s King’s Arms Tavern, Saturday April 14
  • Wellington’s San Francisco Bathhouse, Sunday April 15
