Australia is now tenth on the medal table at the London Olympics, eight places ahead of New Zealand.

But for a while they were sitting as low as twenty-fifth, with New Zealand out in front leading the charge as a superior nation.

Australians took it as reasonably good sports, but have been quick to crow now that they are back out in front.

As good sports?? Rubbish, they could not bear to see good old NZ ahead of them on the medals table so they would not show NZ on the list. Even heard mention that if the moaning Aussies could not do any better, then they wanted NZ to become part of their team. A bit like claiming Phar Lap, The Pavlova and more as theirs.

"Australians took it as reasonably good sports..." Get your facts right. We've been moaning and groaning like the sore losers we are, throughout most of the games. Now it's a collective sigh of relief that we were at least able to top our kiwi neighbours... pheeew!
