Very unfair of you to air this story, I feel sorry for the business owner. They didn't break any laws, and even though you may not like their attitude it is unfair that you will have had a negative impact on their business. One of your worst stories.

The very reason we have stopped watching Close-Up or Campbell Live any more . Hard situation for all , but not one that needed national coverage from tabloid TV .

She really should not of been having a child, first of all where is the father (sensing a sperm raider) and secondly I thought it cost more than $20.00 per week to raise a child which is what she said she could afford to pay for the cot. Blessing in disguise and really should not have had a go at the shop!!

Awful story... So sad for the mum, sad for a struggling business to be dragged through the mud and one of Campbell Live's lowest forms of tabloid journalism. I quite like J.C. he's funny and pretty intelligent, but the editors and the producers of this show should hang their heads in shame. Ratings at the expense of a terrible event that has clearly scarred this woman, and at the expense of a small town shop. You can't compare this store owner to Postie Plus. They probably loose the total amount they refunded to the mother up the cleaners vacuum each night. This is a small store that is hurting in a tough economic time. Shame J.C. for allowing it, and shame on the producers for considering this news worthy. Why don't TV3 buy all the goods and donate the money back to this poor unfortunate lady and then apologize to the store owners!

The ruthlessness of journalists on Campbell live is disgusting. Creating a story out of nothing and tilting it in such a way that destroys careers and businesses. Journalists have the potential to do so much good in the world, exposing genuine corruption. Instead they sell their souls and cover stories such as this.

WOW - so many people bagging campbell live! They're doing their job - they've brought us an interesting story that has sparked some debate. It is unfortunate all round. Yes there are valid questions on how did she afford the tattoo, it is however a small basic one and should not have cost hundreds of dollars. I do question how the business can afford lawyers fees - would it not be easier to just pay her for the returned product? surely you'd spend near on $500 for a lawyer to get involved.

I feel so angry about the story last night, I am compelled to view this page and comment. Campbell Live, you should apologise at 7pm tonight for what you have potentially done to this small business. I cannot believe the journalism - it was disgusting. If you do not make an apology to Baby Solutions for the way you reported this story, I won't be tuning in to your show any longer. It is bullying to the extreme and I hate to see people treated this way. Of course we all feel for Kathleen's loss; it is a very sad situation but come on! Baby Solutions held the goods for months while the layby was paid off, they offered to sell the goods on her behalf and they said to you that they were not in a good financial position (which they also said they didn't want people to know - but you reported it!). This is their livelihood you are destroying here. The story should not have been aired in the first place but to do so, so one-sidedly, is disgusting. Shame on you Campbell Live!!!

Campbell live may well be sensationalist journalism at best, however, I doubt very much that this was a one sided story. I am sure there is a back story and why a compassionate group such as Sands would resort to going to the media. It seemed that the women at Baby Solutions were pretty closed to negotiation to me, and yet could, by the way, still afford to engage their lawyer. Judgemental comments about how Kathleen could afford to look after her baby when he was born or that she had a tattoo are not fore thought. How long does one have from birth to funeral for a stillborn? Just days, I imagine. Its nothing about her tattoo, or how she could manage her new baby. It was about money at short notice in a very unexpected situation. And was it about the money, or just that she didn't need the things anymore, and thought what she could do instead for her wee boy now with the money from those things. There will always be two trains of thought on this, those from bereaved parents, and those who have had the blessing to never have had to go through such as this.

My heart goes out to this poor woman. As if she hasn't been though enough. I can't even begin to imagine what it was like for her plucking up the courage to even go back to the store in the first place after whats shes been through. Then to be sold sorry we can't refund you. From experience I can tell you when go through something like this the last thing you want to do is face the world. Massive respect to her for trying to do right by her son to give him a proper funeral. I hope baby solutions do see the light and come to there senses. It's not about the money here. Shes been through a tragedy no money can fix. Only time. I hope time will heal the hurt and baby solutions can make amends to somewhat ease her pain. Kia kaha.

Yes I am also very sad for the loss for Kathleen. It is every mothers nightmare. I too would be gutted at not getting a refund. I however do agree with most of the other posts in that Campbell live was very unfair in the reporting. Bev and Donna are actually extremely caring and compassionate people. I'm sure that with being bamboozled by a reporter and cameras out of the blue it did put them on the spot. I only know of them through being a customer of their store....They have always been extremely helpful, and gone well out of their way to assist with any baby needs. Unfortunately here in Wanganui there is not many baby stores to choose from unless you go to farmers where you don't actually get service let alone acknowledgement (and would most definitely not get cash back)or babycity where the stock is limited. Baby solutions have always been excellent with their customer service, more so than any other store I purchase from including Wellington based stores where I lived for 30 years. I'm sure that baby solutions would have definitely refunded the money with no question had they been able to do so. It is very sad to hear that they are not doing well.
